Fundraising Letter

Support raising letters should not be longer than a page but no shorter than half a page. Use a 11-12 point font with clear texts (i.e. Arial, Times New Roman, etc). The following is an example. Please feel free to copy it and fill in the blanks with your own words! Below are Kaleidoscope graphics you can download and use, as well as a sample layout!

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Smith (Write their names, instead of saying “Dear friends and family”),

I have exciting news to share with you! I have the opportunity to join an organization called Kaleidoscope on a trip to______(Where will you be?)_____ on_____(Give the dates)______. We will be partnering with the organization_______(what organization are we working with?)___________ to provide a program for kids who are growing up cross-culturally.

Kaleidoscope is a nonprofit organization that works with these “third culture kids” to provide them with tools for success. We will lead them through an intentional program that addresses identity, processing their stories and feelings, and redefining the concept of home. Kaleidoscope also _______________ (You can use this sentence to relate Kaleidoscope’s work to something that is important to this person, i.e. “Kaleidoscope also works closely with missionary families to provide them with support.” or “Kaleidoscope works with kids as young as four years old.”)

I first heard about Kaleidoscope through_________ and decided to apply because___________. I am excited to be joining Kaleidoscope for this conference because___________. One thing I'm excited for is_____________. But I'm also nervous about_____________!

(Here’s an optional space to ask for non financial support, i.e. “Please be praying for me as I prepare for this new adventure.” or “Let's grab coffee so I can share with you more,” or “Do you have any travel tips and tricks you can share?”)

For this trip, I need to raise _________ to cover my airfare and other expenses. Would you [thoughtfully/prayerfully] consider donating $_____? Anything you give is tax deductible!
