FAQs

So, what does Kaleidoscope actually do?

Where should we start? We come to you and put on awesome events for third culture kids, whether you’re an organization, a school, or a community group. You can also purchase our curriculum directly if you want to put on your own event or just use it at home with your TCKs. And we have online workshops for third culture kids and people who love them that provide tools and resources to cross-cultural families. You can find those here

Can I send my kids to a KLDSCP camp?

The short, sad answer is no. We work exclusively with partner organizations to run their TCK programs at in-person events. However, your third culture kid can join a virtual Guide Group to interact with peers and mentors on a weekly basis, no matter where you are in the world! (Want to bring Kaleidoscope to your company’s next event? Click here!)

How does Kaleidoscope benefit my family?

We know that you want to meaningfully connect with your third culture kids but don’t have time to read a 300-page dissertation on the topic. That’s why we’ve done the research and created easy-to-use curriculum and tools that empower your TCKs to thrive. Our affordable and accessible products remove all confusion from third culture kid care and facilitate true connection.

Can I buy curriculum to put on my own events for TCKs?

Yes! Start here for curriculum that fits your specific needs.

Who are your resources for?

Our resources empower parents and caregivers of third culture kids to connect with the TCKs in their lives and support them well. We provide tools from worksheets to workshops, too. You can access these and find even more resources here.

I’m an adult TCK; how can I get involved?

Volunteer at one of our in-person events, lead a virtual Guide Group, or intern with us! We can’t wait to meet you.

Do you have any religious affiliations?

We respect all walks of life and are committed to seeing TCKs thrive through their complicated journeys, whatever their religious background or personal faith.

why do your tools cost money?

We are a for-impact organization, which means we care more about impacting third culture kids than making money. While generous donors help keep our costs low for families and organizations to participate and benefit, making an impact requires lots of resources! We are always working on new ways to reach TCKs more efficiently.

What’s the difference between a Kaleidoscope team and babysitters?

We offer so much more than childcare! We’ve created our original curriculum specifically to address the struggles of growing up in multiple cultures, grief, hard good-byes, and exploring identity. A Kaleidoscope program offers a safe place for third culture kids to process their stories with others who ‘get it’.
